An invitation becomes a room; a room becomes a collective self-portrait.
Joana invited eighteen women artists to answer a single question — what is the feminine? — in black and white, across collage, painting, poetry, textile, and light. Nothing was curated in advance: the room composed itself in situ, through the artists’ own hands.
The encounter itself became the artwork. As each artist responded to the invitation, the installation evolved through conversation, contribution and presence — many showing work for the first time. The result surprised everyone, including its maker.
