Dilston Grove Gallery

This installation shows the beginning of Joana Palma’s work with light.

With this sculpture the artist discovered the object’s ethereal presence at Dilston Grove – a church converted into a gallery.

In this piece the artist explores the concept of ‘Animism’ and the life of the object.

Animism – (from Latin anima, “breath, spirit, life”) is the religious belief that objects, places and creatures all possess a distinct spiritual essence.

Acrylic, cable ties, aluminum.
January 2014, Dilston Grove Gallery – Southwark, London.
